History

O ur roots go back to the late 1930s when amateur rose growers joined together to form the Niagara Frontier Rose Society. This was followed over the years by the Greater Buffalo Rose Society, the Niagara Rose Society and the Greater Amherst Rose Society. The years took their toll and in 1990 forced the consolidation of the societies and the formation of the Western New York Rose Society.

Today we are an organization affiliated with the New York District of the American Rose Society (the ARS). We have a membership of avid growers with monthly meetings, an annual Christmas party and annual rose show. At each of a our meetings a program is presented of interest to the rose grower. We also foster an interest in floral arranging. Please visit us and become a member to enjoy all the benefits our society has to offer.
